Your ID must be a valid, current government-issued identity document that:

- Includes a photo of yourself
- Is in color
- Is a direct photo, not a scan or picture of a screen
- Lists the country and/or state of issue
- Has legible information, showing your name, date of birth, and expiration date
- Does not have a glare that makes reading the information difficult
- Is not blurry
- Acceptable documents include:
- Driver license
- Passport (signed, with a visible MRZ code)
- Green card
- Unacceptable documents are:
- Expired
- Temporary IDs
- Military IDs
- Health insurance cards
- School identification cards
- Reservation cards
- Allodial American National identification cards
- Voter ID card
- Damaged or voided documents (i.e. voided or hole-punched IDs are unacceptable, minor cracks are acceptable)
- Paper IDs or laminated paper IDs
Further notes:

- All four corners of the document must be visible (laying on a dark surface)
- Fingers should not be in the photo (place the ID down on a flat surface and take a picture of it. If you are holding the ID in your hands, this can cause your account approval to be delayed).
- The identity document must be in Latin characters
- Documents that are not in Latin characters must be officially translated. Acceptable documents include:
- Original document translated by a certified translator and notarized with a stamp or seal of notary and signature of notary in black or blue ink only.
- Original document translated by a certified translation service company on letterhead (notarization not necessary).
- The translation must be included with the original and translated document.

Note, if the document does not list an address, then a proof of address is required.
