Swan supports Personal accounts, IRA accounts, RIA accounts, and various other Entity accounts. Please read the below information for the requirements for opening each.

Personal Accounts
United States Residents
- You are eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- A valid US Social Security Number (SSN).
- A valid US phone number connected to a smartphone with texting and camera access.
- A valid US address outside of New York or Texas.
Non-United States Residents
Currently, the only way to join Swan as a non-US resident is through Swan Private. We require enrollment in Swan Private to ensure that our international clients receive top-notch onboarding experience and support.
If you’re planning to purchase $50,000 or more Bitcoin in the coming year, we encourage you to sign up at swanbitcoin.com/private.
We hope to have our Swan Personal product available to non-US residents in the near future.
If you sign up with Swan Private and you live outside the US or have international identity documents, here are the requirements:
- You are eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- A valid international ID (passport recommended).
- A valid International phone number connected to a smartphone with texting and camera access.
- A valid International address and proof of address (a document written in English) within our list of supported countries
- A valid Tax ID number and proof of your tax ID number (a document written in English).
- An international bank account capable of international wires.
Entity Accounts
When you sign up for your entity account via this page, you will be guided through a workflow for uploading all information and supporting documents. You can exit the workflow and come back as necessary. The below table is a summary of requirements for entity accounts:
