Each client creating a Swan account must complete an identity verification step. To complete this process, we use a secure verification platform to identify clients' identities. Follow the instructions below to submit identity verification.
Depending on your account type, you will be asked for the following information.
1) Begin Identity Verification
2) What state do you live in?
Select your current state of residence, then tap Select.
3) Let’s verify your identity
Choose one of the supported ID types and review the on-screen requirements.
4) Front of driver license
Take a clear photo of the front of your driver license.
5) Camera opens for front capture
Center the front of your ID in the frame and take the photo. Use good lighting and avoid glare.
6) Check your photo
If everything is clear and all four corners are visible, choose Use this photo. Otherwise, Retake photo.
7) Processing your ID
Persona will process the image automatically.
8) Back of your ID
Repeat the same process for the back of your ID (go through the same capture → review/confirm → processing ID steps).
9) Take a selfie
We’ll ask for a quick selfie to confirm it’s you. Follow the on-screen framing.
10) Complete and confirm your details
Enter your legal name, birth date, SSN (if requested), and residential address.
11) Additional documents (only if requested)
If prompted for proof of SSN or proof of address, upload a photo the same way you did for your ID: capture → confirm → continue. Acceptable documents typically include an SSN card, a W-2 tax document (for SSN) and recent utility bill, bank statement, or credit card statement (for address).
12) Verification complete
You’ll see a green checkmark when verification finishes.
13) Verification pending
Most clients get approved right away. Sometimes reviews require a manual check. If you see Verification pending, our team is reviewing your submission, and you’ll be notified as soon as it’s finished.
