The easiest way to add 2FA to your account is to use both a phone and a computer, following the sequence below:
On your computer:
1) Sign in to your Swan account
2) Navigate to https://app.swanbitcoin.com/2fa
3) Click "Yes, I have an authenticator app"
4) Swan will text a 6-digit code to your phone number to confirm it's you — enter it
5) When a QR code appears on screen, pause and pick up your phone
On your phone:
7) When the app asks you to sign in to a Google Account, select "Use Authenticator without an account" instead. This keeps your 2FA codes on your phone only, not in the cloud. (Already signed in? Tap your profile picture → "Use Authenticator without an account.")
8) Tap the + button to add a new account
9) Select "Scan a QR code"
10) Scan the QR code on your computer screen using your phone's camera
Back on your computer:
11) Enter the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app
12) Click through to the end of the 2FA setup sequence
11) Enter the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app
12) Click through to the end of the 2FA setup sequence
Congratulations! Your Swan account now has app-based 2FA enabled. Going forward, you'll enter the six-digit code from your app when you log in or add new wallets.
Only have your phone? You can complete setup on one device: tap "Enter a setup key" instead of "Scan a QR code," and copy the setup code from the Swan site into Google Authenticator.
Reminder: confirm cloud sync is turned off in Google Authenticator — no Google Account should be shown in the top-right of the app. And since your Swan login codes arrive by email, we recommend securing your email account itself with a passkey.
