What are the browser and OS requirements for Swan Vault?

In this article we will review the Browser, Operating System (OS) and device driver requirements for creating and operating your Swan Vault from within your Swan account.

Browser

We recommend using the latest version of Chrome. Other compatible browsers include Edge, and Opera. Other browsers do not support the WebSerial API.

Operating System

Older operating systems might not have the latest protections against online threats. Updating your computer ensures you have the best defenses against potential risks and keeps your computer running smoothly and securely. Take a moment to ensure your computer meets the recommended operating system requirements and consider upgrading if not.

The recommended OS versions are:

• macOS 12.x-14.x
• Windows 11

At a minimum, your computer must have the following OS versions:

• macOS 10.x
• Windows 10

Device drivers

A device driver is sometimes needed to help your computer communicate with external devices, like your Jade device. When you connect your Jade to your computer, the driver acts as a bridge, ensuring the two can exchange information smoothly. Without the right driver, your computer might not recognize your Jade or be able to use all of its features.

* If your device requires a driver on macOS, make sure to choose the wchusbserial option from the serial port prompt on your browser after the driver is installed successfully.

** Once your Jade is connected, Windows Update should install the driver.
