In the event of your passing, the beneficiaries designated on your IRA must contact us by submitting a request. Our team will walk them through every step of the process, which typically includes:
- Locating your account(s) - Obtaining your (the deceased) full name and, if possible, your email address associated with the Swan account.
- Evidence of your passing via a certified copy of the death certificate.
- Swan/Fortress, at its sole and reasonable discretion, may require beneficiaries to be prepared for a phone call or video conference.
If you do not have beneficiaries designated, the executor or administrator of your estate must provide us with additional documents such as a
- Probate documents or court orders appointing the executor or administrator of the estate
- Government ID of the executor or administrator.
