When you add multiple addresses to Swan using our "Use Multiple Addresses" extended public key feature, we will display the addresses your wallet should generate to validate that we will be disbursing Bitcoin to the same addresses that your wallet expects. While these instructions may vary from wallet to wallet, the generic instructions below should help you locate these addresses.
Hit the Receive button in your wallet. This will display the next available address. Please check if it starts with a "3..." or a "bc1...". Then verify that Swan has generated the same first address as is in your receive list. You can switch to Swan between those two formats using the selector under the list of addresses as shown below. Swan highlights the beginning and end of the address so that it's easier to verify. As long as the beginning and end match, the rest of the addresses will match.
Troubleshooting
Swan assumes that the extended public key you've given us is fresh and has never been used. We will use this public key to generate 500 addresses, starting with address number 0. For your privacy, this is the recommended option. Please do not re-use an extended public key you've used elsewhere. Instead, use your wallet to create a new account so that you have a fresh key.
If you give Swan a key that was previously used, Swan will show the first address in that list rather than the address that will be generated when you hit Receive, as your wallet generates a new address for every time you receive coins. You can validate that Swan addresses match up to yours by looking at your transaction history.
